Funeral services for Harvey “Butch” Adams, 72, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home with Doctor John Greene officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

          He was born July 24, 1944 in Madisonville, Texas, the son of the late Harvey Morgan Adams and Jackie Hamock Adams, and died Sunday, April 30, 2017 in Lufkin.

          Mr. Adams loved to fish. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, old westerns and his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

          He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dee Adams of Lufkin; daughter, Jamie Adams of Lufkin; daughter, Rhonda Lee of Longview; son, Steve Lee of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Ruth Adams of Lufkin; brother, James Adams of Lufkin; sister, Johnnie Upchurch of Nacogdoches; sister, Gloria Jean Adams of Crockett; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          Mr. Adams was proceeded in death by his parents, Harvey and Jackie Adams; and sister, Bernice “Bonnie” Lewis.

          Special Memorials may be made to Harmony Hill Baptist Church, 2708 S. Chestnut St., Lufkin, Texas  75901.

          Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Shafer Funeral Home, prior to the funeral service.
