J.C. “PaPa” McClendon

          Graveside services for J.C. “PaPa” McClendon, 78, of Corrigan, will be held Monday, April 16, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Stryker Cemetery in Corrigan with Billy Murphy officiating.

          Mr. McClendon was born February 3, 1940 in Camden, Texas, the son of the late J.B. McClendon and Carrie Camilla (Barefield) McClendon, and died Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at his residence.

          Mr. McClendon was an avid fisherman and liked to make hatchets for people. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Above all, Mr. McClendon loved his Lord and Savior.

          He is survived by his wife, Sherril (Smith) McClendon of Corrigan; son, Clarence McClendon of Corrigan; son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary McClendon of Corrigan; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Chris Hubbard of Corrigan; and grandchildren, Megan McClendon, Rachael McClendon, Carissa Hubbard, Cameron McClendon, and Courtney Hubbard, all of Corrigan.

          Mr. McClendon is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Viola McClendon; granddaughter, Amanda Hubbard; and grandson, Colton McClendon.

          Pallbearers will be Scott Stanford, Caleb Stanford, Cameron McClendon, Johnny Stack, Clifford Key, and Ricky Allen.

          Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Hubbard.

          Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
