A celebration of Life for John “Pop” Edward Sible, 81, of Diboll, will be held Friday, May 12, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the residence of 747 Brookwood Dr., Diboll, Texas, 75941.

          Mr. Sible was born November 13, 1935 in Bakersfield, CA, the son of Clarence and Gloria Sible, and died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Diboll.

          He was an avid golfer, fisherman and loved his job as a correctional officer at D.C.C.. Mr. Sible retired from a career at Georgia Pacific.

          Mr. Sible is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Roseline and Gary Engstrom of Ironwood, MI; son and daughter-in-law, James and Debbira Sible of Moncks Corner, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Janis Sible of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Debra Sible of Bakersfield, CA; special granddaughter, Tracie Sible of Diboll; special great grandson and best friend, Cole Hodge of Diboll; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; along with one brother and one sister of California.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ida Marie “Honey” Sible; daughter, Cynthia Sible; and grandson, Travis Michael Edward Sible.

          Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, directors.
