Funeral services for Kenneth “Will” Wayne Simms Jr., 43, of Nacogdoches, will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Shafer Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Bro. Richard Joseph officiating. Interment will follow at Gann Cemetery.
Mr. Simms was born October 23, 1974 in Woodbridge, Virginia, the son of Kenneth Wayne Simms Sr. and Sandra Kay (Thompson) Simms, and died Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in Houston.
Mr. Simms was a master plumber and a jack of all trades. He loved his kids and his nieces and nephews very much. Mr. Simms was of the Baptist Faith and recently rededicated his life to Christ.
He is survived by his daughter, Katie Simms of Houston; daughter, Harlee Simms of Nacogdoches; son, Willson Simms of Nacogdoches; father and step-mother, Kenneth Wayne Sr. and Ethel Simms of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Kenny Bridges of Wills Point, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Priscilla and Sheldon Mansfield of Dayton, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Elwin Lamon of Lufkin; step-brother and wife, Kelvin and Brandy Lamon of Lufkin; step-sister and husband, Melanie and T.A. Bazor of Lufkin; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Simms was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Kay Simms.
Pallbearers will be Steven Mansfield, Brett Mansfield, Trevor Lamon, Trenton Nichols, Edward Belyeu, and Brian Field.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Worley, and Dick Webb.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
