Funeral services for Phyllis Gail Berry Ellington, 60, of Huntington, will be held Monday, October 2, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bob Killam officiating.  Interment will follow at Shofner Cemetery in Huntington.

          She was born June 2, 1957 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late E.B. Berry and Norene Shofner Berry, and died Friday, September 29, 2017 in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Ellington loved her family and friends. She also loved to fish and be at family functions. Mrs. Ellington was a C.N.A., employed by Angelina Home Health for 13 years. She considered them to be her special family, and loved taking care of all of her patients. Mrs. Ellington was baptized at the age of 12, and was a member of Huntington First Baptist Church.

          She is survived by her son, Clay Ellington of Huntington; nephew, Jase Berry of Lufkin; niece and husband, Jessa and Justin Neyland of Huntington; aunt, Emo Jean Walters of Huntington; aunt and uncle, Lola and Jeff Hanchey of Huntington; aunt, Jo Harrison of Etoile; along with numerous cousins, and a host of special friends.

          Mrs. Ellington is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Mark Berry.

          Pallbearers will be Kevin Green, Franklin Loy Williams, Travis Nerren, Greg Harrison, Wendell Harrison, and Tim Harrison. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Shofner, Charles Shofner, Jr., and Howard Byrd.

          Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
