Memorial services for Sandra Jean Schaeffer, 62, of Pollok, will be held at a later date.

          Ms. Schaeffer was born September 7, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of Marcelle Schaeffer and Thelma (Reagan) Schaeffer, and died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in Lufkin.

          She loved her grandchildren, listening to Gospel music, and working in her yard. Ms. Schaeffer also enjoyed dancing and going to the VFW.

          She is survived by her step-son and wife, Franklin and Carrie Strickland of Huntington ;son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Christina Cox of Pollok; daughter and son-in-law, Sounya Cox and Steve Grady of Pollok; daughter and boyfriend, Sara Cox and Daniel Woltz of Pollok; daughter and son-in-law, Alisha and Michael Thompson of Pollok; daughter, Rebecca Marquez of Pollok; granddaughter and husband, Kasoundra Justus and Benny Tubbs of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Jesse Cox and Brittany Williams of Pollok; grandson, James Herrington of Baytown; grandson, Patrick Malone of Pollok; grandson, Jake Cox of Pollok; granddaughter, Hannah Malone of Pollok; granddaughter, Alijah Gary of Pollok; granddaughter, Alizabeth Thompson of Pollok; grandson, Logan Thompson of Pollok; grandson, Wyatt Thacker of Pollok; grandson, Emmett Marquez of Pollok; great-grandson, KayDen Tubbs, and Marshall Tubbs, both of Lufkin; great-granddaughter, Brookaynn Tubbs of Lufkin; baby Cox on the way of Pollok; brother and sister-in-law, David and Janise Schaeffer; sister, Wanda Leon; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Morris Riddle; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Archie Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Cindi Schaeffer; sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Tony King; along with numerous cousins and other relatives.

          Ms. Schaeffer is preceded in death by her first husband, Franklin Cox; belated husband, Jacobo Marquez; and step-son, Ronald Strickland.

          Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
