Visitation for Wilfredo Ascencio, 42, of Corrigan, will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.

          Mr. Ascencio was born September 18, 1975 in Ahuachapán, El Salvador, the son of Jorge A. Granados and Clemencia Ascencio Alvarado, and died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in Corrigan.

          He enjoyed playing soccer and to tell a good joke. Mr. Ascencio loved to fish and spend time with his family.

          Mr. Ascencio is survived by his wife, Ester Pineda Ascencio; son, Alfredo Pineda Ascencio; brother, Enio A. Ascensio of Corrigan; sister, Olga M. Ascencio-Flores of Moscow, Texas; brother, Roberto E. Ascencio Granados of Moscow, Texas; sister, Margarita I. Granados of El Salvador; nieces, Yoselin Flores, Athalia Ascensio, Noely Ascencio, Fatima Ascencio, and Anna Lee Ascencio; nephews, Brandon Ascencio, Adonis Ascensio, Alberto Ascencio, Nelson Flores, Leibi Ascencio, and Thiago Ascencio; sisters-in-law, Norma Hernandez and Lucia Ascensio; and brother-in-law, Lucilo N. Flores.

          He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
