Ronald E. Mitchell Obituary

          Memorial services for Ronald E. Mitchell, 77, of Lufkin, will be held at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery at a later date.

          Mr. Mitchell was born on November 16, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Curtis Mitchell and Clara Mae (Richardson) Mitchell, and died Friday, March 8, 2024, in Lufkin.

          Mr. Mitchell proudly served in the United States Army and retired after 20 faithful years. He reached the rank of E-7. Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Patriot Guard. He loved motorcycles, working on cars, and traveling.

          Mr. Mitchell is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Michael Iversen of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Matthew and Catherine Tuel of Conroe; great-grandson, William Tuel of Conroe; and great-granddaughters, Elyna Tuel and Evelyn Tuel, both of Conroe; brothers, Randy Mitchell, Russell Mitchell, and Robert Mitchell; and cousin, Carol Gladney of Cleburne, Texas.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tammie Mitchell; son, Ronald E. Mitchell, Jr.; sisters, Sheila Phillips and Sharon Mitchell; and brothers, Ricky Mitchell and Roger Mitchell.

          In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patriot Guard Riders, Inc., 1148 S. Harvard Ave., Tulsa, OK 74112.
