Mass of Christian Burial for Aristeo Monroy, 60, of Hudson, will be held Friday, September 22, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Lufkin with Fr. Joe Kannampuzha officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

          Mr. Monroy was born September 9, 1957 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas Mexico, the son of Aristeo Monroy and Guadalupe Mata Monroy, and died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Lufkin.

          He is survived by his wife, Alicia Monroy; daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Eliazar Caldera; son and daughter-in-law, Lalo and Toni Jaimes; grandson’s Andrew Jaimes, and Aleksis Jaimes; granddaughters, Camila Caldera, Ximena Caldera and Alyssa Jaimes; father, Aristeo Monroy; and his brothers and sisters.

          Mr. Monroy was preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe Monroy.

          Pallbearers will be Andrew Jaimes, Aleksis Jaimes, Jose Monroy, Gerardo Monroy, Raul Martinez, and Aristeo Monroy.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Lalo Jaimes and Eliazar Caldera.

          Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
