Graveside services for Bill White, 85, of Huntington, will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Bennet Cemetery in Trinity County with Rev. Tim Wilson officiating.

          Mr. White was born February 14, 1932 in Fisher, Louisiana, the son of Floyd White and Nettie Lewing White, and died Thursday, July 6, 2017 in Huntington.

          He retired from the Army and received the rank of First Class Chief Warrant Officer. Mr. White was a great man who loved serving his country.

          Mr. White is survived by his wife, Shannon Rose Thomas White of Huntington; sister-in-law, Linda Roach of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Sissy Oates of Huntington; sister-in-law, Becky Bashara of Carrollton, Texas; brother-in-law, John Forteza of Houston; step-daughter and husband, Marla and Shane Jansen of Buna; step-daughter and husband, Kelly and Charles Garner of Huntington; step-daughter and husband, Amy and Tony Davidson of Huntington; 9 grandchildren; best friends, Sgt. Major Truman and Jean Stanberry; and mother-in-law, Nita Taylor of Lufkin.

          He is preceded in death by his first wife, Estelle White; sister-in-law, Brenda Ellisor; father-in-law, Austin Thomas; and step-father-in-law, Burl Taylor.

          Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2017 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.

          Memorials may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank, Ave. Lufkin, Texas  75904.
