Funeral services for Clell Dominy, 94, of Kennard, will be held Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Ronnie Frankens officiating.
Mr. Dominy was born February 2, 1925 in Kennard, Texas, son of the late Jack Dowdy Dominy and Julia (English) Dominy and died Saturday, April 20, 2019 in Crockett.
Mr. Dominy served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater and worked as an aircraft mechanic. During his time in the Army, he played guitar in a band. Mr. Dominy was of Pentecostal faith, loved his family and friends, and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Dominy of Kennard, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and John Causey of Blue Ridge, TX; daughter, Delta McGilvary of Blue Ridge, TX; grandson, James D. Brown of Blue Ridge, TX; grandson, Kevin Christian of Van Alstyne, TX; grandson, Levi McGilvary of Dallas, TX; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Ashleigh, and Tiffany; great-great-grandchildren; Brooklyn, Jameson, Alexa, and Leah; sister, Jacqueline Pyle of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Ray and Nell Dominy of Lufkin, TX; sister-in-law and husband, Deborah and Kenneth Lee of Houston, TX; sister-in-law and husband, Sharon and Carl Owens of Houston, TX; sister-in-law and husband, Bonnie and Billy Trammell of Kennard, TX; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dominy was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Julia Dominy; first wife, Coletha Dominy; great-granddaughter, Chelsea Brown; sisters, Ethel Thames, Katy Steed, Ida Brasher, and Louise Kelsey ; brothers, Lloyd Dominy, Clyde Dominy, and Jake Dominy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
