Funeral services for Doris Carver, 74, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Chaplin Brannen Mullican officiating. Interment will follow at Knight Cemetery.
Ms. Carver was born July 2, 1943 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Marvin Richard Tubbs and Ethel (Fisher) Tubbs, and died Thursday, February 22, 2018 at her residence.
She loved to go fishing, the country, and her 9 children.
Ms. Carver is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Martha Snowden of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Onda Snowden of Lufkin; son, Robert Carver of Lufkin; daughter, Ethel Carver of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Kayla Carver of Saratoga, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Secelia and Sydney Hewitt of Lufkin; son, Cody Joe Carver of Lufkin; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Charlene Nichols of Lufkin.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert A. Carver; daughter, Donna Dennis; son, Jimmy Carver; and brother, Cowboy Tubbs.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Snowden, Nathan Snowden, Jeremiah Hewitt, David Deltoro, Mark Ivers, and Jimmy Deltoro.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sydney Hewitt, Chris Kennedy, and David Thompson.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
