Dorothy Louise (Jones) Morehead

         Graveside services for Dorothy Louise Jones Morehead, 97, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Smyrna Cemetery in Diana TX. with Bro. Steve Cowart officiating.

          Mrs. Morehead was born December 22, 1921 in Upshur County, Texas, the daughter of James Albert and Deborah Jane (Chadd) Jones, and died Sunday, October 20, 2019 in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Morehead was a long-time member of O’Quinn Baptist Church.  She loved her Lord and Savior above all.  She was a devoted, loving, and nurturing wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was known most affectionately as Memmie (Mem) by all who loved her.

          Mrs. Morehead is survived by her daughter, Jane Morehead Standifird; grandaughters Haley Standifird, Angela Leeber, and Leslie Williamson; granddaughters and husbands, Julie and David Reynolds, and Stephanie and Eric Hathaway; grandsons and wives, Colton and Brett Standifird, Randy and Lynn Allen, and Michael and Laurie Morehead; son-in-law Henry Heflich; special friend Melba Crawford; 17 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years Bill Morehead; son, Glynn “Bubbo” Morehead Sr.; daughter, JoAnn Morehead Heflich; grandson, Glynn Morehead Jr.; great-grandson, Aaron Allen; sister and brother-in-law, Audrey Dean and Frank Kupec; brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Gladys Jones; and special friend Lessie Davis.

          Pallbearers will be Colton Standifird, Randy Allen, Mike Morehead, Corey Allen, Larami Morehead, and Mason Allen.

          Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Kupec and Chadd Greenville.
