Elizabeth “Beth” (Gay) Grace

         Funeral services for Elizabeth “Beth” (Gay) Grace, 64, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Roy Hall officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., following the funeral service at Owensville Cemetery in Franklin, Texas.

          Mrs. Grace was born on May 3, 1954 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of T.J. Gay and Martha (Cochran) Gay, and passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 11, 2018.

          Beth devoted her life to the love and care of her family and anyone who needed her. She most recently loved being a “Bebe” to her three beloved grandsons. Beth was a natural artist and enjoyed creating beauty wherever she found herself. Her favorite activities included quilting, stained glass, gardening and being outdoors. Beth, a life-long early riser, would say that when she woke each morning she couldn’t wait to start her day. Her fervor for life, infectious smile, and easy laugh will be deeply missed by all who love her.

          She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Grace of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Stephen Smith of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Richard Russell of Lufkin; grandson, Nathan Grace of Lufkin; grandsons, Garrett Smith and Jonah Smith, both of Dallas; brother, Thomas Gay of Laneville, TX; sister-in-law, Debbie Gay of Tyler, TX; “sisters-in-love”, Dawn Yount Ellis of Huntington, TX, and Becky Hines of Hudson, TX; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          Mrs. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, T.J. and Martha Gay; step-mother, Katherine Harris Gay; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth Grace and Hubert Grace.

          Pallbearers will be Stephen Smith, Jason Grace, Steve Grace, Nester Lemon, Regan Osburn, and J. Lynn Grace.

          Special memorials may be made to Hospice in The Pines, 1504 W. Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904, or to The ALS Association, P.O. Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037.

          Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin
