A Celebration of Life for Fred Owen Wareing, 68, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott in Lufkin, Texas.

          Fred was born December 15, 1949 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of Edgar Charles Wareing and Betty Jo (Owen) Wareing, and died Saturday, January 20, 2018 with his family by his side.

He loved his country and fought in the Vietnam War, aboard the U.S.S. Dubuque, as part of the U.S. Navy. Fred was an outgoing and fun-loving person that never met a stranger. He took great pride in his yardwork. Fred was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

          Mr. Wareing is survived by his wife, Addie Wareing of Lufkin; daughter, Lori Wareing of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Rogers and Terry Morton of Lufkin; grandsons, Wrangler Maxfield, Dallas Smith, and Casey Morton, all of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Patricia Wareing of Friendswood, TX; brother-in-law, Sandy Bate and wife Janet of Etoile; sister-in-law, Carolyn Moore and husband Roger of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Edgar Rogers and wife Peggy of Huntington; nephews, Jon Bate of Lufkin, and Robert O. Wareing of California; niece, Rebecca Wareing of Florida; along with all of his fur babies.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karis Loller; sister, Nelda Bate; and grandson, Mykael Hedgepath.

          Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
