Memorial services for Jackie Ray Johnson, 64, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at McKindree Baptist Church with Bro. David Merritt officiating.
Mr. Johnson was born September 13, 1953 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Jack Johnson and Estella (Burnett) Johnson, and died Friday, May 4, 2018 in Lufkin.
Mr. Johnson was a third-generation logger. He was also known for being a “picker/collector” as well as an avid fisherman. Mr. Johnson never missed Monday Night Wrestling. He loved to have company over and was a people person. Mr. Johnson was a member of McKindree Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Henson of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, J.R. and Johanna Johnson of Lufkin; daughter, Christy Ross of Lufkin; granddaughter, Julia Henson of Lufkin; grandson, Tristan Johnson of Arkansas; granddaughter, MaKayla Ross of Minot AFB, ND; grandson, Kash Ross of Lufkin; grandson, Jordan Johnson of Lufkin; grandson, Clayton Pee of Illinois; granddaughter, Madison Johnson of Lufkin; sister, Marcy Door of Lufkin; brother, Bubba Johnson of Lufkin; mother of his children, Patricia Jackson of Lufkin; along with his church family, whom he loved so much.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Thomas Johnson and Clinton Johnson; and sister, Vergie Ruth Gordon.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McKindree Baptist Church, prior to the memorial service.
