Jo Deaton

          Funeral services for Jo Deaton, 62, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery.

          Mrs. Deaton was born May 18, 1956 in Oklahoma, the daughter of Jack Ray and Yvonne Serratt, and died Saturday, November 24, 2018 in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Deaton enjoyed family time, vacations, and racing cars.

          She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael  and Nicole Marler of Cypress, TX; son, Joe Deaton of Sacramento, CA; grandson, Josh Williams of Lufkin; granddaughter, Ashley Williams of Lufkin; grandson, Jace Williams of College Station; grandson, Sailor Deaton of Lufkin; granddaughter, Jada Greer of Lufkin; grandson, Rylan Marler of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Brantlee Peveto and Harper Peveto, both of Lufkin; sister, Anne Tucker of Houston; brothers, Rex Lehman and wife Sue of Yuma, AZ, Gary Lehman and wife Jenny of Zavalla, Steve Lehman of Cooper, TX, Jeff Ray of Georgia, and Steve Ray of Georgia; mother-in-law, Alice Deaton of Lufkin; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Debbie Hull Banks.

          Mrs. Deaton was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Michael Lynn Deaton.

          Pallbearers will be Craig Smith, Cody Lovejoy, Rex Lehman, Steve Lehman, Brad Carter, and Jace Williams.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Rylan Marler, Brantlee Peveto, and Josh Williams.

          Special memorials may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Ave, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

          Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
