Joe Polk

         Memorial services for Joe Polk, 67, of Lufkin, will be held at a later date.

          Mr. Polk was born May 21, 1950 in Louisiana, the son of the late Paul Laverne Polk and Jerry (Myers) Polk, and died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in Lufkin.

          Mr. Polk was a computer whiz, enjoyed a good joke, and loved being with his family.

          He is survived by his son, Tommy Burns of Lufkin; son, Martin Briggs of Vidor; daughter, Amanda Polk of Lufkin; daughter, Angela Polk of Vidor; daughter, Pamela Polk of Vidor; son, Paul Polk of Tennessee Colony, Texas; grandchildren, Kayla, Megan, Chrystal, Camden, Erik, Krystalyne, Layla, Jayden, Brandy, Jodie, Marcus, and Paul; numerous great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Ted Polk of Broaddus; and sister, Linda Richardson of Broaddus.

          Mr. Polk was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Paula Smith

          Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, directors.
