Memorial services for Joyce Elizabeth Agan Oglesby, 86, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Bill Lanigan officiating.
Mrs. Oglesby was born March 30, 1931 in Shamrock, Texas, the daughter of the late Leo Agan and Lela (Copeland) Agan, and died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Lufkin.
Mrs. Oglesby was an Eastern Star, a Pink Lady in Bay City, and an active member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the VFW in Port Lavaca. She loved people and enjoyed “cutting up” with everyone.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jim Oglesby of Lufkin; daughter, Cynthia Brown of Lufkin; step-daughter and son-in-law, Cindy (Oglesby) and Dwight P. Schild of Waller, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Melissa Oglesby of Port Aransas, TX; grandchildren, Aaron W. Reeves, Brooke E. Burns, Hallie Brown, Dustie (Schild) and husband, Eric Mach, Harley Schild and wife, Jordan, Braxton Schild, Tyler Schild, Quinten Schild, McKenzie Schild, August Schild, Dallas and husband, Jacob Smith, Kayla Broussard, and David Pierce III; along with 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Simpkin of Odessa, TX; and sister, Lawanda Butler of San Antonio, TX.
Mrs. Oglesby was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Reeves; brothers, Leo Agan and Billy Joe Agan; and sisters, Nelda Jean Archer and Laura Fern Fritz.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, directors.
