Malcolm Lynn Golden Obituary

         Funeral services for Malcolm Lynn Golden, 66, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, June 30, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Harmony Hill Baptist Church in Lufkin with Dr. John Greene, Karl Smithhart, Bill Havard, and Jason Fullen officiating. Interment will follow at Sims-Rocky Hill Cemetery in Huntington.

          Mr. Golden was born May 4, 1953 in Lufkin, Texas, to Lordell Ballard Golden and the late Harley Golden, and died Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at home surrounded by his family and friends.

          Mr. Golden graduated from Huntington High School in the class of 1971. He received an Associate’s Degree in Science and Electrical Mechanical. He was employed by Southland Paper Mill from 1974 to 2004.

          Mr. Golden established Golden’s Restoration and Floor Care in 2000 while still employed at the paper mill and three generations of Golden’s are continuing to serve the East Texas area.

          He was one of only three in Texas with Master IICRC certified in Applied Structural Drying, Carpet Cleaning, Color Repair, Fire and Smoke Restoration, Master Fire and Smoke Restorer, Master Textile Cleaner, Master Water Restorer, Odor Control, Stone Masonry and Tile Care, Water Damage Restoration, and received numerous awards.

          Mr. Golden never missed an opportunity to support his children and grandchildren in basketball, baseball, football, golf tournaments, track meets, cross country or steer showing in which they were involved. He was most proud that he had the opportunity to teach them the game of golf and most importantly, to always trust in God.

          In 1974, Mr. Golden married the love of his life, Lesia Morehead Golden.

          He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lesia Golden of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Billy Arnold of Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Caressa Golden of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Paul Johnson of Lufkin; son-in-love and fiancé, Chad Wilson and Angie Reece of Huntington; daughter-in-love and husband, Summer Garcia and Heath Garcia of Lufkin; grandchildren, Kyle Wilson, Blane Wilson, Bryce Golden and fiancé Sydney Felts, Grant Wilson, Prestyn Golden, Ethan Golden, Lila Golden, and Adeline Johnson; mother, Lordell Ballard Golden; mother-in-law, Hazel Vestal Morehead; brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Jody Golden; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Tina Brockett, and James and Carrie Coody; special uncle and aunt, Donald and Linda Vestal; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          Mr. Golden was preceded in death by his father, Harley Edwin Golden; father-in-law W.J. Morehead; and brother-in-law, Christopher “Pete” Morehead.

          Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kyle Wilson, Blane Wilson, Grant Wilson, Bryce Golden, and nephews, Calen Morehead and Cody Golden.

          Honorary Pallbearers will be Welton Brookshire and the men of Huntington High School Class of 1971.

          Memorial contributions can be made for the new Children’s Building at Harmony Hill Baptist Church, 2708 South Chestnut St., Lufkin, Texas 75901.

          The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Harmony Hill Baptist Church in Lufkin.
