Funeral services for Robert “Creed” Taylor, 24, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, October 16, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, with Richard Herrington officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

          Creed was born May 20, 1993 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of Stuart Hartmann Taylor and Angela Courtney Taylor, and died Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in Lufkin.

          He loved to climb trees and work on vehicles. Creed’s wife was the first girl he ever loved, and the last. He had a good heart, and always found the good in things. Creed was very proud of owning his own business, the East Texas Tree Surgeon.

          Creed is survived by his wife, Christina Taylor of Lufkin; sons, Bentley Taylor, Beau Taylor and Baby Creed Taylor, all of Lufkin; father and step-mother, Stuart and Terri Taylor of Fort Worth; mother, Angela Taylor of Lufkin; brother, Joshua Taylor of Lakewood, Washington; sister, Sydney Taylor of Lufkin; maternal grandparents, Bill and Wanda Peters of Lufkin; paternal grandparents, Robert and Betty Taylor of Lufkin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Marie Sweet of Lufkin; along with close friends, Shaun “Papa Shaun” and Tammie Elliott.

          He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Wayne Courtney; and grandmother, Carol Ann Taylor.

          Pallbearers will be Joshua Steed, Shaun Elliott, Cody Darab, Matthew Whittemore, AJ Courtney, and Trucker Sweet.

          Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
