Romelio Esparza Jr.

          Mass of Christian Burial for Romelio Esparza Jr., 49, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Hank Lanik officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

          Mr. Esparza was born January 13, 1969 in Naples, Florida, the son of Romelio Esparza Sr. and Isidra Del Toro Esparza, and died Sunday, February 18,2018 in Lufkin.

          He loved his Pit Bulls, the Dallas Cowboys, and to breed and raise roosters. Mr. Esparza enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.

          Mr. Esparza is survived by his wife, Santa Esparza; sons, Hector Aranda, Victor Aranda, Eduardo Zamarron, Zachary Kennidy, and Romelio Esparza; daughters, Brittany Esparza and Amanda Esparza; grandchildren, Sebastian, Hector, Percy, Isaac, and July; parents, Romelio and Isidra Esparza; sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura and Rolando Vargas, Linda and Sergio Vargas, Lucy and Raul Perez, and Elizabeth and Mario Ramirez.

          He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ruben Esparza and Julio Esparza.

          Pallbearers will be Hector Aranda, Eduardo Zamarron, Romelio Esparza III, Raul Perez Jr., Sergio Vargas, Zachary Kennidy, Mario Ramirez, and Rolando Vargas Jr.

         Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Aranda, Ed Lenderman, Othoniel Zamarron, Othoniel Zamarron Jr., Rolando Vargas Sr., Reney Esparza, Mario Ramirez Jr., Felipe Romelio Vargas, PJ Solis, Ricardo Urbina, Orlando Espinoza, and Zane Williams.

          Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., following the visitation.
