Funeral services for Roy Lenard White, 77, of Wells, will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Wells, with Bro. Wes Matchett officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.
Mr. White was born January 17, 1941 in Wells, Texas, the son of E.O. White and Bessie (Roberts) White and died Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Lufkin.
Mr. White was a proud member of the Wells High School class of 1959. He was a lifetime educator, Texas Oilman, and an avid outdoorsman. Mr. White was a former Mayor of Wells, Texas, and was also on the Mt. Hope Cemetery Board for a number of years. He was a lover of Ford cars and a world traveler.
Mr. White is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roy Lagette and Linda White of Cookville, TN; son, Adam White of Rodeo, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Sonny Collins of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Branden and Meghan White; grandson, Bradley Ethan White; grandson and wife, Luke and Traci White; grandson, Wade Barbe; grandson and wife, Hunter and Chelsey Barbe; grandson, Thomas White; grandson, Jacob White; granddaughter, Sofia White; granddaughter, Sydney Hays; great-grandchildren, Ryder and Kash Barbe, and Kallie and Brantley White; sister, Dorothy Edwards of Southlake, Texas; sister, Judith Williams of Wells; brother, Billy Joel White of Lufkin; and brother and sister-in-law, Rayford and Debra White of Baytown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E.O. and Bessie White; wife, Laura White; brother, Joe Everett White; sister, Joyce Carnline; sister, Patsy McMullen; brother-in-law, Charles Carnline; brother-in-law, Wayne Edwards; brother-in-law, Mureal Williams; and sister-in-law, Henrietta White.
Pallbearers will be Wade Barbe, Branden White, Hunter Barbe, Bradley Ethan White, Luke White, and Sonny Collins.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
