Ruben Rios Jr.

         Mass of Christian Burial for Ruben Rios Jr., 21, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Lufkin with Fr. John Henao officiating. Interment will follow at Berry Cemetery

          Mr. Rios was born March 11, 1997 in Watertown, Wisconsin, the son of Ruben Rios Sr. and Elizabeth (Staggs) Segura, and died Friday, July 13, 2018 at his residence.

          Ruben loved to write poems, and had a good heart. He loved his father.

          He is survived by his father and stepmother, Ruben Sr. and Donna Rios of Lufkin; mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Carlos Segura of Lufkin; sister, Neida Maria Pichardo of Lufkin; brother, Andrew Alexander Staggs of Lufkin; step-sister and husband, Sandra and Tommy Wilcox; step-sister and husband, Tammie and Ram Seshadrinathan; nephews, Adrian Way, Clayton Thigpen, Auddy James Michalochas, and Joshua Cameron; nieces, Rachael Way, Ashley Nicole Thigpen, Anika Michalochas, Jessica King, Putcha Seshadrinathan, Isaias Rafael Segura, and Francisco Javier Segura; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

          Mr. Rios was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Beatrice Rios; paternal grandfather, Donaciano “Chano” Rios.

          Pallbearers will be Adrian Way, Clayton Wayne Thigpen, Danny Rios Jr., Joe Perez, Carlos Segura, Francisco Segura, Raymundo Segura, and Alberto Segura.

          Honorary pallbearer will be Peanut.

          Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. following the visitation.
