Samuel "Lucky" C Shelton III

 Samuel “Lucky” Shelton III, 61, of Huntington, was born August 2, 1957 in Guam, the son of Samuel C. Shelton Jr. and Christine (Johnson) Shelton, and died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Hospice In The Pines.

          Mr. Shelton was an avid fisherman and loved his family.

          He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Beth Shelton of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Rick Ferguson of Lufkin; daughter, Shelby Shelton of Huntington; granddaughters, Sierra Ferguson, Alia Ferguson, and Gracie Ferguson; grandson, Ely Shaffer; sister and brother-in-law, Glynda and Bobby Goolsby; sister and brother-in-law, Diana and David Crutchfield; and sister, Barbara Moore; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Special friends of Lucky’s were Mike Sandlin, Dr. Nat Robinson, and Tim and Dean Willis.

Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Powers; and mother-in-law, Marjorie Nerren Hartgraves.

          Memorial services for Lucky will be Friday, August 17, 2018 at 10:00a.m., at Harmony Hill Baptist Church, Lufkin.       

 The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank St., Lufkin, Texas 75904.
