Mass of Christian Burial for Zeferino Castro Jr., 27, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Lufkin with Father Luis Fernando Arrogave officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

          Mr. Castro was born April 4, 1990 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of Zeferino Castro Sr. and Maria Del Carmen Solis, and died Friday, November 24, 2017 in Colorado.

          He graduated from Lufkin High School, where he played soccer. Mr. Castro was the first in his family to go to college, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business administration from Stephen F. Austin University. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and he loved his son more than anything.

          Mr. Castro is survived by his son, Zayn Miguel Castro of Lufkin; parents, Zeferino and Maria Castro of Lufkin; brother, Carlos Castro of Lufkin, TX; brother, Daniel Castro of Lufkin; grandfather, Esteban Solis of Mexico; and grandmother, Maria De Jesus of Mexico.

          He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Miguel Castro; and grandmother, Maria Dolores

          Pallbearers will be Carlos Castro, Daniel Castro, Ricardo Orozco, Jonathan Fletcher, Cesar Duran, and Alvino Solis.

          Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.
