Allan Nelson Hunt

            Graveside services for Allan Nelson Hunt, 74, of Apple Springs, will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Broaddus Cemetery with Johnny Dale Johnson officiating.

            Mr. Hunt was born on December 19, 1950, Broaddus, Texas, to the late James Henry Hunt and Erma Estell (Boyett) Hunt, and died Saturday, March 8, 2025, in The Woodlands.

            Mr. Hunt was a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church in Lufkin, where he was baptized. He owned and operated a successful logging company, Allan Hunt Logging, for over 30 years. Mr. Hunt was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a pasture rider for Pine Island Hunting Club and loved all of the members there. Mr. Hunt loved his family very much and passed away with them surrounding him. If you had ever met him, you loved him. He will be dearly missed.

            Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy Hunt of Apple Springs; daughter, Susan Andrews of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Tammy Hunt of Forest, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Willie Thomas of Hudson; grandson and wife, Ryan and Samantha Andrews of Spring Branch, TX; granddaughter and husband, Samantha and Dakota Powell of Hudson; grandson, William Hunt of Forest, TX; grandson, Connor Hunt of Forest, TX; grandson, Carson Hunt of Forest, TX; grandson, Hunter Thomas of Hudson; granddaughter, Haley Thomas of Hudson; great-grandsons, Gavin Andrews, and Liam Andrews, both of Spring Branch, TX; great-granddaughter, Harper Andrews of Spring Branch, TX; and sister, Judy Bynum of Broaddus.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy Hunt and Pete Hunt; sisters, Teresa Hunt and Shirley Burgay; and son-in-law, Richard Andrews.

            Pallbearers Hunter Thomas, Ryan Andrews, William Hunt, Dakota Powell, Connor Hunt, Willie Thomas, Carson Hunt, and Kenneth Hunt.

            Honorary pallbearers will be Pine Island Hunting Club Members, Dink Crawford, and Thane Turner.

            Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
