Mr. Andrew Hunter was born on October 13, 1950, in London, England, to the late James Hunter and Patricia (Noble) Hunter, and died Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Andrew was proud to be a Brit. He loved his siblings and kept in touch with all of them. His sisters lovingly recall that he liked to repair things, often having left over parts. Once, during a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, he scooped up his niece and put her inside his coat to keep her warm. He worked at the Port of Felixstowe, and also as a truck driver. He also enjoyed building and repairing computers.
In 2003, he began chatting with his soon-to-be wife, Chryl, online and their love quickly grew. He visited her in person that August in Texas, and by January 2004, Chryl decided to move to England to be close to him. On March 26, 2004, they married in Nacogdoches, Texas. He instantly became poppa to two grandsons on that day. Chryl and Adrian were happy that they got a chance to see Andrew’s “side of the world”. In 2011, they moved to Texas permanently after Chryl had endured the cold of England for 8 years. It was Andrew’s turn to endure the heat of Texas.
Mr. Hunter loved to talk and tell stories, and he especially loved going on holiday (taking vacations). He worked in manufacturing in Nacogdoches and would often say, “I have always worked”. He was dearly loved and his passing has left holes in many
Hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Delonda “Chryl” Hunter; stepdaughter and husband, Autumn and Jacob Harvey; stepson and wife, T.J. and Patricia Lewis; stepson and wife, Bo and Olga Lewis; grandchildren, Jessica, A.J., Chance, Lily, Blue, Alexa, Bubba, Dagen, Elliot, Avery, Thomas, Furious Lucas, Trinity, Ian, Piper, Wylie, and Little T; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Jamie and Cathy Hunter; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Sandra Hunter; sister, Ann Lancaster; sister, Heather Eden; sister, and brother-in-law, Hazel and Ian Franklin; and sister and brother-in-law, Jacqui and Tim Farrow.
