Angel "Bobo" Garcia

          Funeral services for Angel “Bobo” Garcia, 69, of Nacogdoches, will be held Monday, August 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Gravel Ridge Cemetery.

           Mr. Garcia was born on May 1, 1953, in Kennedy, Texas, to the late Santos Garcia and Virginia (Vasquez) Garcia, and died Thursday, July 28, 2022, in Nacogdoches.

          Mr. Garcia was a member of Goyen’s Hill Baptist Church. He Worked at GNS sawmill for several years.  He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. Mr. Garcia loved to play 42, washers, and horseshoes. Above all, He loved being with his family. He enjoyed going fishing and camping with them and making them all laugh.

          Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife of 32 years, Christine Garcia of Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Monica Cain of Alazan, TX; daughter and fiancé, Sallie Garcia Barry Bell of New York; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya “Tookie” and Darren Jackson of Lufkin; daughter, Alicia Wade of Louisiana; son, Samuel Brown of Florida; grandchildren, Michah, Justin, Karissa, Kelsey, Kourtney, Ashlyn, Shelby, Dejinae, Desiraye, and Alyssa; along with numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy Garcia of Nacogdoches; brother and sister-in-law, Dario and Buanita Garcia of Nacogdoches; brother, Damacio Garcia of Nacogdoches; sister, Janie Allen of Nacogdoches; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George Garcia, Jr., Santos Garcia, Jr., and Juan Garcia; sister, Virginia Sowell; and brother-in-law, Dale Allen.

          Pallbearers will be Juan Garcia, Jr., JR Ard, Chris Rickman, Ben Hedrick, Michah Cherry, and Justin Cherry.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Dario Garcia, Jr. and Henry Curbow.

          Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2022, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, prior to the funeral service.
