The family of Anna Laura Squyres Pollock sadly announces her passing at the age of 84. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home with Brother Ty Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Lufkin.

          Anna, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend left her earthly home in Corrigan, Texas, on August 16, 2026. Anna was born on September 12, 1941, to the late C.D. Squyres and the late Ludie Bell (Hughes) Squyres in Woodville, Texas.

          Anna was the Matriarch of the family. She married the love of her life of 62 years, Wayne Junior Pollock on December 12, 1963, and they raised 4 children. She was a country girl with a love for life. She rode horses, worked in the garden, hunted and had a love for all animals. She could outshoot most anyone and loved being barefoot. She was the mom to many of her children’s friends and loved them all as her own.

         She is survived by her children, Roger (Gayle) McElroy, Diana (Donnie) Laurence, Waynette Pollock Isaacks, and Paul (Cheryl) Pollock. She was a proud grandmother to Erika, Stormie, Brittany (Taylor), Darrin, Lacey, Justin (Inez), Nicholas, Audra (Paul), Brandon (Bobbie), Jennifer, Alicia, Amanda (Jerrick), Charles (Tessa), and Samantha (Austin). She is also survived by her brother, Cecil Dwight Squyres and sister- in-law, Mary Squyres. She had 28 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

         Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Junior Pollock; brother, Lonnie Audean Squyres; sister-in-law, Patsy Wayne Squyres; son-in-law, Jerry Read Isaacks; and grandson, Jerry Wayne (J.W.) Isaacks.

           Pallbearers will be Philip Squyres, David Squyres, Austin Squyres, Charles Brian, Kyzer Fiedler, and Aden Evans.

           Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Pollock’s great-grandsons. 

           Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Shafer Funeral Home.
