Antonia Rodriguez Saavedra

          Visitation for Antonia Rodriguez Saavedra, 67, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024, from  5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

          Antonia was born on April 10, 1957, in Jose Sixto, Verduzco, Michoacan de Ocampo, Mexico, to the late Manuel Rodriguez Cruz  and Natividad Saavedra Castro, and died Sunday, July 14, 2024, in Lufkin.

          Antonia was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Lufkin. Despite battling cancer, she was a strong woman to the end. Antonia would cook meals to sell every night. She was known to help anyone that was in need. Antonia let her love of cooking as a legacy amongst her children. She also enjoyed crocheting and sewing.

          Antonia is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jose Jaime Flores of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Maria Flores and Daniel Hernandez of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Tania and Fabian Cuellar of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Jose de Jesus Flores and Lucy Lopez of Lufkin; son, Jose Jaime Flores of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Lucia Flores and Rafael Centeno of Guanajuato, MX; son and daughter-in-law, Luis Manuel Flores and Yazmin Orta of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Juan Pablo Flores and Melina Lopez of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Julio Cesar Flores and Joanna Hernandez of Guanajuato, MX; 21 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Elena Rodriguez; sister, Teresa Rodriguez; sister and brother-in-law, Maria Rodriguez and Carmelo Martinez; brother and sister-in-law, Salomon Rodriguez and Josefina Cruz; along with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Josefina Rodriguez; and brothers, Jose Rodriguez and Galdino Rodriguez.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
