Bessie Evelyn Shotwell Wood, 89, of Lufkin, was born on May 17, 1936, in Leggett, Texas, to Luther Shotwell and Bessie (Cummings) Shotwell, and died Friday, August 15, 2025, in Pollok.

          Mrs. Wood was a member of Dunn Chapel Church of Christ. She worked for Central State School for 44 years in physical therapy. She enjoyed traveling, watching western movies, but most of all playing with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Wood loved her dogs Daisy, LouLou and grand dog shadow.     

          She is survived by her daughter Camille Jones of Pollok; son and wife, Randy and Roxanne Carlin of Lufkin; son and wife, Steve and Joyce Carlin of Pollok; son and wife, Dennis and Cindy Gray of Lufkin; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and special grandchildren, Kaleb, Braiden, Jasmine, Altan, Kaydence, and Stetson.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roger Dale Carlin; daughters, Sandy Reynolds and Dennise Gray.
