Funeral services for Bettie (Brumley) Westbrook, 90, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Gary Forrest officiating. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery.

          Mrs. Westbrook was born on October 7, 1934, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to the late Merion Ellis Brumley and Ruth Hazel (Nichols) Brumley, and died Monday, April 21, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

          Mrs. Westbrook attended Chestnut Drive Baptist Church and loved all of the members. She was a very strong and faithful Christian woman who was very active in her church. Mrs. Westbrook was a former Queen Bee of the Red Hat Society. She was also an avid sports fan, and her favorite teams were the Lufkin Panthers, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Kansas City Chiefs.

          Mrs. Westbrook is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Patrick Richards of Lufkin; daughter, Patricia Scroggins of Garrison; son, Tim Scogin of Lufkin; grandchildren, Brandi Lankford, Jodi Morgan and husband Byron, Reilly Garrett and wife Danielle, Brad Reid and wife Heather, Josh Scogin and wife Bethany, and Kim Scogin; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Brumley of Santa Fe, NM; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Ron Hambrick of Longview; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Reeva Brumley of Lufkin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Preston Westbrook.

          Pallbearers will be Reilly Garrett, Brad Reid, Joshua Scogin, Byron Morgan, Jackson Lankford, and Lance Brumley.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Conway and Ryder Garrett.

          Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, prior to the funeral service.
