Betty Marshall

          Graveside services for Betty Marshall, 82, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Diboll with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating.

          Mrs. Marshall was born April 30, 1939, in Burke, Texas, to Archie Morris and Evrew (Moore) Morris, and died Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Marshall was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Newton, Texas and was a devout Christian and very close with the Lord. She was an excellent cook and loved feeding her family. Mrs. Marshall was an LVN Nurse at Shady Acres Nursing Home in Newton, Texas for most of her adult life.

         She is survived by her son, Ray Reed of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Dessalynn Acosta and Joey Reyes, Jessica Reed, Paden and Tiffany Reed, Chantea and Gary Allen, Monte and Marie Reed, Felicity and Chris Sumner, Chelsie and Nick Vallejo, Coty Reed, and Colby Reed; 18 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Chris and Phillip Allen of Newton, TX; daughter-in-law, Karen Hooks; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin Ray Marshall; son, Terry Lynn Reed; and granddaughter, Charity Reed.

          The family would like to give special thanks to her granddaughter, Dessalynn for her dedicated and loyal care and compassion to Betty in her final days.
