Betty Jean Jones

          Graveside services for Betty Jean Jones, 73, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin with Bro. David Merritt officiating.

          Mrs. Jones was born on October 15, 1951, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late William Curtis Parten and Mary Lou (Trigg) Adkinson, and died Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at her residence.

          Mrs. Jones loved the Lord and Trump. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed traveling and fishing. Above all, Mrs. Jones loved her family and her fur babies and enjoyed spending time with them. She was the definition of love and taught her family to love. Mrs. Jones always wanted her family to know how much she loved and cherished them.

          She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Bridgett Ferguson of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Scott Foxworth of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Nicole Ferguson of Apple Springs; chosen children, Luther Whitehead, Brian Acord, and Carrie Casper; grandchildren, Brooke, Austin, Brittany, and Bubba Ferguson; grandson and wife, Payton and Hanna Ferguson; grandson and wife, Michael and Skylar Ferguson; granddaughter and husband, Tracee and Hayden Bertrand; grandson, Caden Foxworth; granddaughter, Mallory Foxworth; granddaughters, Kandis and Brandi Allen, and Kelsey Garcia; chosen grandsons, Mason Raymond and Dillon Blackwell; great-granddaughters, Kollins Bertrand, Ellie Mae Ferguson, Sadie Grace Ferguson, and Maisie Sage; great-grandsons, Sawyer Price and Riley Price; father of her children, Jerry “Butch” Ferguson; and best friend, Debbie Richardson.

          Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buddy Jones; son, Jerry Lynn Ferguson; and sister, Patricia Berry.

          Special memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 2102 S. John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
