Betty Jo (Hambrick) Morris

          Memorial services for Betty Jo (Hambrick) Morris, 95, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, with Minister Chet Strain officiating.

          Mrs. Morris was born on August 13, 1930, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Nick Hambrick and the late Lila (Cryer) Hambrick, and died Saturday, March 21, 2026, in West Monroe, La. She was raised in Buelah.

          Betty Jo was a stay-at-home mom who resided in West Monroe, La. since 1956. Mrs. Morris was a loving mother to two children. She was a devoted wife and companion while married to Jack W. Morris for 50 years.

          She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Wanda Morris of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; daughter, Connie Sims of West Monroe, Louisiana; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

          Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Morris; parents; son-in-law, Dennis Sims; sisters, Lila Mae Strain and Florine McClendon; brother, J.T. Hambrick; grandson, Brian Sims; and others including nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
