A Graveside Memorial Service for Billy Wayne Dykes, 72, of Lufkin, will be held at Kitchens Cemetery, Zavalla, Texas, on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Brad Bailey officiating.

          Mr. Dykes was born on June 20, 1953, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late M.H. Dykes and Ruby (Mooneyham) Dykes, and died Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Lufkin.

          Mr. Dykes enjoyed being outdoors and playing games like 42 and bingo. He was a fan of high school sports, particularly track, basketball, and cross country.

          Mr. Dykes is survived by his daughter, Tonya Pyle and husband Michael “Mickey”; granddaughter, Caitlyn Ackley and husband Joshua “Bear”; grandson, Carson Pyle and wife Jessica; granddaughter, Hannah Pyle and boyfriend Brance Willis; nephew, James “Bubba” Dykes; niece, Mary “Sissy” Dykes; and sister-in-law, Rosie Dykes; along with numerous cousins and special friends.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Mott; and brother, Jimmy Ray Dykes.
