Bob Hughes

          Graveside services for Bob Hughes, 81, of Hudson, will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Largent Cemetery in Lufkin with Bro. John Harvey officiating.

          Mr. Hughes was born on June 21, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, to the late William Delbert Hughes and Beulah Irene (Short) Hughes, and died Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in Lufkin, Texas.

          Mr. Hughes was of the Christian faith, was a member of the Lighthouse of Prayer, and loved his church family. He served in the United States Navy. Mr. Hughes enjoyed the outdoors, riding four wheelers, hunting, and fishing.  He loved animals, especially his dog, Spook.

          Mr. Hughes is survived by his daughter, Terri Hughes of Linn Valley, KS; daughter and son-in-law, Tisha and James Mills of Hudson, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Monica Fuller of Shelbyville, TX; grandson and wife, Victor and Kayla Mills of Hudson; granddaughter, Cady and Luke Dorman of Lufkin; granddaughter and fiancé, Casady Fuller and Colby Teer of Lufkin; granddaughter and fiancé, Kyla Hardy and Kyle Lovelace of College Station, TX; granddaughter, Alana Fuller of Shelbyville, TX; great-grandson, J.J. Mills of Hudson; and grandson, Fernando Dos Santos of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Marie Hughes.

          Pallbearers will be Victor Mills, James Mills, Jeff Fuller, Luke Dorman, Steve Harris, and Colby Teer.

          Honorary pallbearer will be Rick Mahan.

          Special memorials may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904.

          Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
