Bob Kelly, 89, of Lufkin, was born on December 29, 1934, in Brownstown, Illinois, to the late Roy McKinley Kelly and Fern Elizabeth (Chatham) Kelly, and died Sunday, October 6, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Kelly was a minister for 57 years and taught at two Bible Colleges, Platte Valley Bible College and Intermountain Bible College. He had church ministries in Illinois, Nebraska, Arizona, and California. In his younger years he enjoyed growing up on a farm. Mr. Kelly was an avid reader and loved to travel, go on family cruises and golfing. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife, Shirley Kelly of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Glen Richards of Covington, IN; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Kelly, Jr. and Barb of Oakley, KS; son and daughter-in-law, James and Lisa Kelly of Oregon, MO; daughter, Sandra Kelly of Lufkin, TX; son and son-in-law, Kevin Kelly and Skip Stewart of Orlando, FL; granddaughter, Teresa Richards of Danville, IL; grandson, Billy Richards of Danville, IL; grandson, Michael Richards of Covington, IN; granddaughter and husband, Britni and Joe Lyon of Olathe, KS; grandson and wife, Steven and Sierra Kelly of Maize, KS; granddaughter and husband, Brandi and Ian Hulon of Overland Park, KS; granddaughter, Carleigh Kelly of Overland Park, KS; grandson and wife, Chris and Brittany Kelly of Ravenwood, MO; grandson and wife, Phil and Lindsay Kelly of La Vista, NE; granddaughter, Lura Kelly of Estes Park, CO; grandson and wife, Travis and Samantha Kelly of Oregon, MO; grandson, Logan Kelly of Maryville, MO; grandson, McKinley Kelly of Audubon, MN; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Chris Ann Kelly; and sisters, Blondelle Blessing Rush, Betty Ruth Peterson, and Patricia Ann Luster.
