Bobbie Jean Linton Obituary

          Funeral services for Bobbie Jean Linton, 84, of Lufkin, will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Phillip Snead and Chet Strain officiating. Interment will follow at Fielders Cemetery.


          Ms. Linton was born on October 30, 1940, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Harvey P. Bennett and Iva Jeneva (Barton) Smith, and died Saturday, April 5, 2025, in Huntington.


          Ms. Linton attended Bald Hill Church of Christ for many years. She was a homemaker and created a loving home for her family. Ms. Linton was a wonderful cook and loved adventures. She was a strong woman and a fighter. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.


         Ms. Linton is survived by her son, Glenn “Peanut” Linton of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Oran Andrews of Lufkin; daughter, JoAnna Linton of Rivercrest; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Vicki Linton of Lufkin; granddaughter and husband, Amanda and Jonathan Curbow of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Brian and Brenna Carbajal of New Braunfels; grandson and wife, Derrick and Chelsea Carbajal of Montgomery Co.; granddaughter and fiancé, Courtney Linton and Marcus Navarro of Tyler; great-grandchildren, Keylee, Deagan, and Daxton Carbajal, Kason Hillin, Braxton and Braelynn Carbajal, and one on the way, Brycen Carbajal; brother and sister-in-law, Harvey E. and Pat Bennett of Lewisburg, TN; brother, James Ellis Bennett of Evadale, TX; brother, Terry Lynn Smith and wife Ann of Houma, LA; sister, Linda Louise Tullis of Anacoco, LA; and sister, Wilma Annice Tullis and husband Mike of Houma, LA.


         She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Glennis Dean Linton; sister, Betty Ann Garrett; and brothers, Henry Frank Smith, Lennie Thomas Smith, and William Charles Smith.


          Pallbearers will be Thomas Linton, Jonathan Curbow, Jimmy Dale Jones, Wayne Goodwin, Melvin Linton, Jr., and Derrick Carbajal.


          Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Linton and Drew “Andy” Goodwin.


          The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice in the Pines.


          Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home.
