Funeral services for Bobby Bostick, 43, of Corrigan, will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Brandon “BJ” Fletcher, Jansen Moranto and Monty Clark speaking.
Bobby was born on April 14, 1980 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Ray Neil Bostick and Janet Kay (Quick) Bostick and died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, November 12, 2023, at his residence.
Enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1999, Bobby proudly served his country for four years, which included Operation Iraqi Freedom. After being honorably discharged, he continued to serve his community as a police officer for 13 years. Bobby possessed a certain wit and humor that made all those around him feel at ease. Bobby loved spending time with Brandon and was so proud of the young man he has become. He and Brandon loved to shoot guns and go fishing. Bobby could always be found outdoors or sitting by the fire with his dog, Harley. This is where he made lasting memories with family and friends. The former Marine was fiercely protective of those he loved most, yet he had the most kind, loving heart and was always willing to help.
He is survived by his son, Brandon Bostick of Huntington; sister, Sherry Duncan, of Longview; nephews, JT Duncan and Grady Duncan, both of Chester; his dog, Harley; mother of his child, Britney Puryear and husband, Kevin of Huntington; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon “BJ” Fletcher, Jansen Moranto, Monty Clark, Josh Sanders, Baldo Enriquez, and Cody Burris.
Special memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, prior to the funeral service.
