Buford "B.L." Weeks, Sr.

          Graveside services for Buford “B.L” Weeks, Sr., 91, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, November 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Whitehouse Cemetery in Lufkin with Bro. Ronnie Frankens officiating.

          Mr. Weeks was born December 27, 1929, in Shelbyville, Texas, to Otha Weeks and Tassie (Samples) Weeks, and died Thursday, November 11, 2021, in Lufkin.

          On September 22, 1950, Mr. Weeks married his loving wife, Ima Jean. In his early years, he worked in the oil field industry for Shell Oil Co before residing in Lufkin to work in retail. Mr. Weeks was a jack of all trades and especially loved to cook and entertain his family during the holidays. He was a member of Greater Love Tabernacle, as well as a member and supporter of the Old Friends Band.

          Mr. Weeks is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ima Jean Weeks of Lufkin; daughter, Susie Conner of Lufkin; son, Jerry Weeks of Kerrville; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Monica Weeks of Lufkin; grandchildren, Andrew Conner, Deidre Conner, Carolyn Jackson, Lauren Allman, Allison Weeks, Casey Weeks, and Whitney Wright; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; sister, Odell James of Lumberton; sister-in-law, Ethelene Weeks of Etoile; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Buddy Weeks, Jr.; granddaughter, Christa Weeks; brothers, James Nelson, Billy Weeks, and Benny Weeks; and son-in-law, Troy Conner.
