Graveside services for Carol Juanita West, 76, will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:00am at Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Father Rich West officiating.
Carol was born December 3, 1947, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Hazel Juanita (Puckett) and Richard “Jack” West. She died July 7, 2024, at home in her sleep after a battle with Myasthenia Gravis.
Carol was a member of the LHS class of 1965 but moved during her senior year, where she graduated high school in Houston. Her life was marked by love, dedication, and a profound compassion for people and animals, and her career in insurance and risk management. Carol was an avid pet lover and dedicated animal rescuer. Over the years she provided a loving home to many dogs, each one holding a special place in her heart. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and love. She touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and compassionate nature.
Carol is survived by her husband William “Bill” Price of Houston, brother and sister-in-law Mel and Lori West of San Diego, CA, and brother and sister-in-law Jim and Mary Jane West of Lufkin. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Rich and Christine West of San Diego, CA, Peter and Melissa Blomgren of San Diego, CA, Rebecca West of Lufkin, Scotty and Jill West of Lufkin, Christopher West of San Diego, CA, Stephen West of San Diego, CA and eight great-nieces and nephews. Carol shared a special bond with her closest friends, Martha, Connie, Jackie, Craig, Lisa, and Shelly and was preceded in death by her close friends Barbara and Mary.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Carol to Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter or Winnie Berry Humane Society.
