Funeral services for Charles Landon Polk, 45, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Shafer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gene Hazell officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Polk was born July 14, 1976 in Lufkin, Texas to Wanda (Hardy) and James Preston Polk, and died Saturday, August 28, 2021 in a local hospital.
Mr. Polk was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and a 1994 graduate of Lufkin High School. Landon was a hardworking, conscientious and loyal employee for Floors Unlimited where everyone there, along with every person he came in contact with, admired, respected and instantly found him to be a kind, caring and generous man. There was always a huge smile on his face when he was with family, friends, and even those whom he did not know but who would soon recognize what a wonderful and special person he was. The world around him became a better place when you knew him.
Landon was third generation in the family flooring business and was always proud to give credit to his grandfather, his dad, and his brother in crafting his trade and always strived to do his work to perfection. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan and loved watching the games with his sons, Tyler and Dillon. He also enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and bass fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, and especially weekly meetings for lunch at Morales with his mom and brother, Eric. There are no words to express how much we will all miss him. Landon was a lifetime member of Timber Creek Church.
