Graveside services for Ms. Cherryal Gay Andrus, 79, of Houston, Texas, will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at San Jacinto Memorial Park and Cemetery in Houston, Texas, with Brother Ty Phillips officiating.
Ms. Andrus was born on February 19, 1947, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to the late John Leroy Andrus and the late Alice Audry (Mitchell) Andrus, and passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Wells.
Cherryal was known for her beautiful laughter that filled every room she entered, and she was always the life of the party. She loved serving as a nurse for over 20 years and was proud to have been a hospice nurse at M.D. Anderson. She had a servant’s heart and wanted to be the “hands and feet of Jesus”, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren lovingly referred to her as their “Groovy Granny”.
She is survived by her son, Malcolm “Rusty” McEachern Jr. and his wife, Nuna of South Korea; daughter, Amanda McDonald of Cleveland, Texas; grandson, Michael Solley and his wife, Heather; grandson, Brandon Solley; granddaughter, Brittney Moss and her husband, Addison; great-granddaughter, Havyn Solley; great-granddaughter, Harmony Solley; great-grandson, Jacob Solley; great-grandson, Kevin Solley; great-granddaughter, Kinlee Solley; great-grandson, Blaine Solley; numerous nieces and nephews; brother, J. L. Andrus and his wife, Linda; and sister, Faye Scarbrough.
Ms. Andrus was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Morrell Andrus; sister, Helen Thayer; grandson, Nathan Solley; grandson, Shane McEachern; and granddaughter, Shanna McEachern.
