Chester “Chet” M. Olsen, 83, of Huntington, was born on October 9, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to the late Chester Marion Olsen, Sr. and Esther (Holm) Olsen, and died Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at his residence.

          Mr. Olsen proudly served in The United States Air Force and was a proud military veteran. He was a member of the American Legion for over 56 years and a lifetime member of the NRA. Mr. Olsen worked as an over-the-road trucker for many years. He was a man of many trades, including carpentry, welding, and heavy equipment mechanics. Mr. Olsen was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors which included farming, hunting, and watching deer. Mr. Olsen also had a love for guns and ammo. He often enjoyed relaxing with friends and an ice cold beer. Mr. Olsen loved his family and friends more than anything and would do anything for them.  

          He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Tim Zych of Otsego, MN; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Rob Stanfield of Savage, MN; grandson and wife, Ryan and Danielle Zych of Princeton, MN; grandson and wife, Matthew and Marissa Zych of Zimmerman, MN; granddaughter, Hailey Garrett of Prior Lake, MN; granddaughter and husband, Hanna and Jamie Crooks of Prior Lake, MN; granddaughter, Hope Johnson of Prior Lake, MN; grandson, Gregory Johnson of Minneapolis, MN; 12 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Loren and Gail Olsen of Prior Lake, MN; brother, Ronald Olsen of Minneapolis, MN; close (bonus family) friends, Gary and DeAnna Williams of Huntington, TX, Cody and Lydia Williams of Huntington, TX, and Courtney and Conor McInnerney of Woodville, TX; along with the rest of the Williams family.

          He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Marion Olsen, Sr.; birth mother, Esther Olsen; mother, Gladys Olsen; wife, Jeanne Olsen; brother, James Olsen; and sister-in-law, Linda Olsen.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Zych, Rob Stanfield, Ryan Zych, Gary Williams, Cody Williams, Matthew Zych, and Gregory Johnson.
