Cheyenne Sheard, 64, of Huntington, was born on August 29, 1960, in San Augustine, Texas, to Delbert Sheard Sr., and Alese Sheard, and died Thursday, July 3, 2025, in Lufkin.
Cheyenne lived a life filled with passion for the outdoors and a generous spirit that touched many. A painter by trade, Cheyenne, found joy in the simple beauty of his work and the world around him. An avid arrowhead hunter, he spent countless hours exploring the land, seeking treasures of the past. In his younger years, he thrilled in riding dirt bikes and embracing the freedom of the outdoors. As he grew older, Cheyenne’s curiosity led him to collect oddities and unique items, each with a story he loved to share. Known for his generosity, he delighted in giving gifts at Christmas, lighting up the night with fireworks, and gathering with family for lunch every Sunday. Baptized as a young man, Cheyenne carried his faith quietly throughout his life.
He is survived by his mother, Alese Sheard; brother and wife, Delbert Sheard Jr., and Cindy Sheard; sister-in-law, Mary Golden; nephew and wife, Colbert and Tori Sheard; nephew and wife, Jason and Margo Sheard; nephew, Cord Sheard; niece, Macy Sheard; and five great-nieces and nephews, all of whom he cherished deeply.
He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Chris Sheard.
The family will hold a private graveside memorial in honor of Cheyenne at a later date.
