Chris Street

        Funeral services for Chris Street, 17, of Diboll, will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Gene Hazel officiating. Interment will follow at Berry  Cemetery in Lufkin.

       Chris, beloved son, brother, grandson and friend, passed away suddenly on April 12, 2023, at the age of 17. He was born on April 20, 2005, to Bradley Street and Merissa McCarty.

       Chris was a kind and compassionate young man who loved to make people laugh. He had a contagious smile and a big heart. He was always there for his friends and family, and he always put others before himself.

       Chris loved video games. He would spend hours playing online with his father, Bradley, and other friends and family.

       Chris was also very close to his uncle, Chad McCarty, before he passed. Chris’s uncle was a role model to him, and he always looked up to him.

       Chris was a bright and intelligent young man who had a bright future ahead of him. He was accepted to college and was excited to start this new chapter in life.

       Chris’s death was a shock to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and his love of life.

       He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Merissa McCarty and Brian Ritchie of Diboll, father and stepmother, Bradley and Brandy Street of Chireno, brother, Brayden McCarty of Diboll, sister, Nadia Ritchie of Diboll, grandparents, Tamisha and Woodie Luce of Diboll, grandparents, Tim and Sue McCarty of Richmond, grandparents, Ken and Pam Street of Diboll, great grandfather, Jose Mott, great grandmother, Betty Street, and great grandmother, Mildred Lovelady of Diboll, aunts, Felicity Luce, and Amber Thelen, uncles Robby and Randall Petty, along with other family members and friends.

      He was preceded in death by his uncle, Chad McCarty, great grandmother, Sarah Mott, great-grandparents, Ken and Shelia Lawson,  great grandfather, Sam Street and great great-grandmothers, Nettie Mae Goins and Evelyn Wilson.

        Pallbearers will be Michael Grigsby, Thomas Pitts, Brad Street, Randall Petty, Robbie Petty, and Jordan Toburen.

        Honorary pallbearers will be Brayden McCarty, Woodie Luce, Brian Ritchie, and Ken Street.

        Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home.
