Clifton Wayne Jones

          Funeral services for Clifton Wayne Jones, 71, of Huntington, will be held Monday, May 22, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Berry Cemetery.

          Mr. Jones was born on September 15, 1951, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Joe Allen Jones and Thelma Marie (Davis) Jones, and died Thursday, May 18, 2023, in Huntington.

          Mr. Jones was of Pentecostal faith. He loved being outdoors and especially loved hunting and working in his garden. Mr. Jones enjoyed canning, fishing, and riding back roads. He was a great artist and loved to draw. Mr. Jones had a big sweet tooth and enjoyed any type of sweet. 

           He is survived by his son, Randal Wayne Jones of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Angelia and Willie Durham of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Brad and Gerri Jones of Lufkin; daughter, Jennifer Ann Parrish and Tryce Bono of Kirbyville, TX; daughter, Kelsie Jones of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Caleb Covington of Port Neches, TX; granddaughters, Miranda Jones of Lufkin, Marissa Jones of Lufkin, Savanna Durham of Lufkin, Jaci Jones of Lufkin, Selah Jones of Lufkin, Chelsie Parrish of Huntington, Madison Parrish of Huntington, Tatum Bono of Kirbyville, Kashlyn Ricks of Lufkin, and Ashton Hopkins of Port Neches; grandsons, Bryce Jones of Lufkin, James Luce of Dallas, Jordan Buckley of Waco, Holden Jones of Lufkin, Owen Jones of Lufkin, Waylon Parrish of Huntington, Jaxon Powers of Lufkin, and Asher Covington of Port Neches; 4 great-grandsons; brother, Jimmy Jones and Sissy Denby of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Marvin Christoph of Lufkin; sister, Stephanie Jones of Lufkin; uncle and wife, Billy and Ramona Davis of Lufkin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Champ Jones, Tommy Jones, and Kester Jones.

          Pallbearers will be Bryce Jones, Waylon Parrish, Burl Jones, Marvin Christoph, Tryce Bono, and Clint Register.

          Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home, prior to the funeral service.
