Clifton Wayne Tobias

          A Visitation for Clifton Wayne Tobias, 70, of Diboll, will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.

          Mr. Tobias was born on January 13, 1954, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Harvey Clifton Tobias and Helen Elizabeth (Reynolds) Tobias, and died Monday, September 16, 2024, in Lufkin.

          Clifton loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing the guitar and bull riding. He worked as a brakeman and retired from the Railroad department.

          Clifton loved his family and friends. He loved the Lord and sought opportunities to share the gospel. He never met a stranger, and he was a man of great faith. Despite innumerable trials, he praised the name of Jesus and worshiped with a joyful spirit.

          Clifton is survived by his daughter, Stacy Tobias of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, April and Chester Christoph of Lufkin; son, Dillon Tobias of Burke; daughter, Amy Allen of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Andrew Kee of Lufkin; son, Chad Hoss Tobias of Burke; granddaughter and husband, Kaylyn and Ethan Haltom of Lufkin; grandson, Breinon Tobias of Lufkin; grandson, Jace Christoph of Lufkin; grandson, Coy Christoph of Lufkin; granddaughter, Ayla Tobias of Burke; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Vivian Tobias of Alto; sister and brother-in-law, Annelle and Roger Johnson of Apple Springs; sister, Darlene Stone of Rockwall; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Pollard; brother, Benjamin Tobias; son, Stetson Hunter Tobias; brother, Max Jr.; and sister, Elizabeth Perry.
